Albuquerque Community Safety Begins With You A Public Safety Improvement Project in the Highland, Nob Hill, University, Silver Hill Area
Safe City Albuquerque: Highland, Nob Hill, University, Silver Hill is a partnership between the police department, businesses, and residents. We are working together to improve public safety in our neighborhoods. Our goals are these.
- To communicate between the partners in order to choose and support the most effective projects and to keep each other informed about methods of improving public safety such as how to report problems, how to set-up neighborhood watch programs, what the current area issues are and what is being done about problems.
- To collectively survey problem areas and inform the City or property owners about improvements in the environment that can improve public safety. Improvements might involve crime reporting, crime prevention measures, lighting changes, sidewalk or street layout changes, weed and litter control, nuisance property actions, and additional homeless outreach.
- To promote business and residential development that creates friendly, safe pedestrian, bicycling, and shopping areas.
